WHAT DO ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS DO?
During their studies, electrical and electronic engineers, according to their fields of interest and expertise, research and development, design, production and testing, system installation, maintenance and operation. If necessary, they carry out marketing activities. With the developing technology, devices have started to become smarter and thus, easier and more flexible products have been offered to users. "Embedded software" put into the electronic circuits in the devices provides these opportunities to the users. Electrical and electronics engineers work to develop faster and smaller algorithms and methods for these embedded software. |
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION AT OUR UNIVERSITY
In the Izmir University of Economics, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a program that includes both theoretical and applied studies is followed. In the first year of the university, Electrical and Electronics Engineering students receive education in mathematics and basic sciences such as physics and chemistry. The knowledge gained in these courses is reinforced with laboratory studies. Starting from the second year, theoretical information is given together with practical and laboratory studies in the courses related to the field of electrical and electronic engineering. As electrical circuits grow and become more complex, it has become necessary to use computer software in the analysis and synthesis of these circuits. Therefore, the use of design and simulation software in the courses is put importance. Our students develop projects by making applications in MATLAB, SPICE, microprocessor and digital signal processor development software. Our students, who are integrated with the application of theoretical knowledge, will be equipped with an infrastructure that will easily meet the expectations of the business world. |
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN? | |||||
At the Izmir University of Economics, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, you will learn the theoretical knowledge and methods to analyze and design electrical and electronic systems, and you will be able to use the tools and computer software used in analysis and design. First year includes basic mathematics, physics and chemistry courses used in engineering. In addition, our first year students will discuss some basic concepts in more detail with their projects. Starting from the second year, special mathematics and special basic science subjects, which are widely used in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, will be studied in detail. In addition to these, theoretical and experimental studies on Electrical and Electronics Engineering will begin in the second year. Third-year education is based on understanding and empirical reinforcement of high-level general concepts in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In the final year, students will take more comprehensive courses specific to the sub-field they have chosen, and in addition to these courses, they will have the opportunity to creatively present their knowledge gained in their education with various design projects they will do in groups. |
WHEN YOU GRADUATE | |||||
Our graduates will be able to bring a different perspective on everything from product development to marketing, with their knowledge of a second foreign language and general culture, as well as their knowledge of English. |
